Public seminar on Green Nanotechnology at BOI Fair 2011

NANOTEC and the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) organized a public seminar entitled “Green Nanotechnology: for sustainable development” on January 6 during BOI Fair 2011. The aim of the seminar is to promote public awareness to nanotechnology and its applications to green technology development for socio-economic development.

Invited speakers included:

• Dr. Kajornsak Faungnawakij, Head of Nanomaterials for Energy & Catalysis Lab. (NANOTEC) talked on the topic of “Nanotechnology for industrial application”
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Puangrat Kajitvichayanukul, Naresuan University talked on the topic of “Laboratory Safety Guidelines for environmental impact”
• Prof. Lerson Tanasugarn, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University talked on “Importance of Public Awareness to nanotechnology development”
• Mrs. Pornphen Opaskitpaisan, Nano-Safety Alliance Section, NANOTEC talked on “National Nanotechnology Strategic Development Plan”.

For those who missed the session, the Nanotechnology Association of Thailand will again include a public discussion forum at NanoThailand 2012 “Nanotechnology for the Benefit of Mankind” during April 9-11 in Khon Kaen University (www.nano-thailand.com/2012/)
