Polymer coating technique improves cantilever sensing

Researchers at the California Institute of Technology have used a technique called surface-initiated polymerization to grow polymer films on nanocantilever chemical vapour sensors. The polymer coating method overcomes the limitations of conventional top-down coating processes such as drop-casting and improves the sensitivity of the cantilevers.
