Prof.Minghua Liu graduated from Nanjing University in July of 1986 and then entered into the master course of Nanjing University.  During that period, he was selected as one of the students to study in Japan by the Minister of Education.  He was sent to Saitama University as the Monbusho(文部省)-Supported Students and received his Ph.D. in 1994 in Materials Science from Saitama University, Japan.  He then joined the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) as a special postdoctoral researcher in RIKEN from 1994 to 1997.  He joined the Institute of photographic chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998 and then joined the Institute of Chemistry as a researcher in 1999, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

He served as the international advisory board of Soft Matter, and the advisory member of Langmuir.  His research interests covers the colloid and interface, self-assembly and supramolecular chemistry including the Langmuir-Blodgett films, supramolecular gel-based soft materials; supramolecular chirality and chiral functional materials, plasmonic catalyst.  He has published more than 200 papers in international peer reviewed journals.
