The
2nd Annual IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro
Engineered and Molecular
Systems (IEEE-NEMS)
will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. IEEE-NEMS is a premier conference of
the IEEE Nanotechnology Council to bring together world-leading researchers
in the several focused topics of MEMS and Nanotechnology to disseminate
their latest research results and allow cross-disciplinary exchange of
knowledge to further advance both technological areas. MEMS is naturally
continuing its downsizing into Nanoelectromechanical Systems but at the
same time it is indispensable in constructing complete Nano devices and
systems. It is foreseeable that MEMS and Nanotechnology will become highly
complimentary technologies that will significantly impact various large
industries across the globe. Topics covered by the conference include
the following:

Deadline
for Full Paper submission |
Full
Papers: 4 to 6 pages will be due on November 1, 2006.
A maximum of 8 pages per paper will be allowed but a US$ 200/page fee
will be charged if the full paper exceeds 6 pages. All accepted papers
will be published in the Proceedings of IEEE-NEMS 2007 which will be included
in the IEEE Xplore database and will be EI indexed.
Invited
Sessions: Invited sessions are to
provide a forum for focused discussions on advanced topics in MEMS or
Nanotechnology. An invited session consists of 4 or 5 papers that must
be electronically submitted for review using the same procedure for contributed
papers. A proposal must include: (1) Title, (2) Organizers, (3) Brief
Statement of Purpose for the session, and (4) A List of Authors and Paper
Titles with paper IDs that will be given at the electronic submission.
The invited/special session organizers must submit proposals to the Invited
Sessions Chair (TBA) by Aug 15, 2006.
Best
Paper Awards: A Best Student Paper
Award and a Best Conference Paper Award will be awarded at the conference.
To qualify for the Best Student Paper Award the student must be the key
developer of the ideas in the paper, and has done the work as part of
an academic degree program. See conference website for detailed information.
