The Hohenstein Institute, an internationally recognized textile research and service center, announced this month that it had completed a field study of the effect of antibacterial clothing containing nanosilver on skin flora and microclimate. The study found that natural skin flora was unaffected by the nanosilver clothing, even after long periods of wear. The findings led the researchers to conclude that antibacterial textiles could be classified as safe.
