This\u00a0includes herbal extracts, health assessment kits, agriculture and food, and water and the\u00a0environment. The goal is to address national challenges and meet the country&#8217;s needs. She is\u00a0also showcasing innovations under NANOTEC 2025, such as healthy eggs or omega-3 eggs,\u00a0MOFs for CO2 absorption, technologies that convert CO2 into valuable chemicals, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, there is a plan to establish 2 startup companies focusing on herbs and healthcare,\u00a0with the aim to expand the use of innovations in the industrial sector by 5%, increasing\u00a0economic value and strengthening competitive capabilities. This initiative aligns with the\u00a0government\u2019s policy to enhance Thai innovations for the benefit of the people and the Thai\u00a0industry.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nstda.or.th\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/DSC_6117_0.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Over the past 21 years, NANOTEC has grown steadily, developing a workforce in\u00a0nanotechnology research and development to create knowledge and innovations related to\u00a0nanotechnology. It has also built a supportive team in various fields to bring innovations to\u00a0users.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nano shirts, nano mosquito nets, nano mosquito repellent lotion, SOS Water, and solar-\u00a0powered water generators&#8221; were some of the early innovations using nanotechnology, which have been continuously developed, both through technology transfer to the private sector and\u00a0for public benefit, especially during emergencies. These innovations paved the way for more\u00a0advanced technologies aimed at solving users&#8217; problems, such as herbal-based cosmetics\u00a0(e.g., Lingzhi mushroom and the Herbal Champion group), air filters against fungi and bacteria,\u00a0and responses to urgent needs like the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the NANO Covid-19\u00a0Antigen Rapid Test and positive-negative pressure helmets that reduce the spread of infections\u00a0or disinfectants. This will\u00a0be driven by the strategy known as the 4 Strategic Focus (SF), a mechanism aimed at improving the quality of life for the public. The goal is to further develop and extend nanotech research to\u00a0address national challenges, enhance the quality of life for Thai people, increase economic\u00a0value, and strengthen competitiveness. This includes various areas such as herbal extracts,\u00a0health assessment kits, agriculture and food, and water and the environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4 Strategic Focus Areas Driving Impact are:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Herbal Extracts:<\/strong> NANOTEC has successfully commercialized black ginger extract in collaboration with three private companies, generating significant economic value and\u00a0elevating the Thai cosmetics\u00a0 industry to international standards. This initiative also aims to tap\u00a0into the expanding market for functional foods and dietary supplements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Health Screening Kits:<\/strong> Through collaborative efforts with the Pharmaceutical Council and the National Health Security Office, the &#8220;Kidney Screening Kit&#8221; has been successfully introduced into government pharmacy systems. This strategy aims to expand to additional medical screening solutions while also exploring applications in veterinary health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Water and Environment:<\/strong> NANOTEC has developed advanced water filtration systems to provide clean water to communities across Thailand. The organization is also progressing in the development of high-performance Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 capture and is collaborating with key private sector partners on CO2 conversion technologies, supporting Thailand&#8217;s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Agriculture and Food:<\/strong> In addressing food security and sustainability, NANOTEC has introduced innovations such as Omega-3 enriched eggs and nutrient-enhanced fertilizers. These technologies enable local farmers to adopt sustainable practices while reducing environmental impact. Advancing National Goals Through Strategic Collaboration: Over the next year, NANOTEC will strengthen its collaboration with private sector stakeholders, academic institutions, and communities to maximize the impact of its research and innovations. Key initiatives include registering herbal products such as black ginger and gotu kola, as well as establishing two startups in the herbal and medical sectors.
