With respect to energy, the strategy lays out a plan for how the country can &#8220;unleash a clean energy revolution&#8221;. Recommendations include: Renewable energy supplies should be double that of 2008 by the end of 2012; Create three new energy innovation hubs in 2012; Expand support for energy research and development through increased Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) funding; and, Accelerate the application of new ideas from nanotechnology, biotechnology, and advanced manufacturing.
