{"id":2642,"date":"2011-06-17T14:21:35","date_gmt":"2011-06-17T07:21:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nano2.toolsmkt.com\/?p=2642"},"modified":"2011-06-17T14:21:35","modified_gmt":"2011-06-17T07:21:35","slug":"do-new-water-technologies-stand-a-chance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nanotec.or.th\/en\/do-new-water-technologies-stand-a-chance\/","title":{"rendered":"Do New Water Technologies Stand a Chance?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A panel at a recent TechConnect World conference on clean tech and nanotechnology agreed that water purification and treatment techniques continue to attract bright ideas, but getting beyond a nifty prototype is a challenge researchers and entrepreneurs must all face.\u00a0 <!--more-->Global trends all point to limited water in the future, yet new technologies are difficult to commercialize.\u00a0 Finn Nielsen, president of Veolia Water Systems North America, said, &#8220;We have been pretty good at coming up with new processes, but I think we are at the point where we really need to take a big step forward. We need new materials&#8211;new nanomaterials and fibers.\u00a0 Unfortunately, we are in a market that is very difficult.
