According to Rob Aitken, director of SAFENANO, \u201cFive years on from the original launch of the SAFENANO website, the landscape in relation to nanotechnology risk issues has changed beyond all recognition. An enormous body of work is underway addressing, hazard, exposure and risk through research programmes, government and regulatory activities, industrial projects and standardization. The need for clear informed assessment of the issues and their consequences is greater than ever. Provision of this has been core to our mission since SAFENANO\u2019s inception.
