{"id":3032,"date":"2011-08-30T10:36:01","date_gmt":"2011-08-30T03:36:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nano2.toolsmkt.com\/?p=3032"},"modified":"2011-08-30T10:36:01","modified_gmt":"2011-08-30T03:36:01","slug":"australians-show-big-support-for-nanotechnology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nanotec.or.th\/en\/australians-show-big-support-for-nanotechnology\/","title":{"rendered":"Australians Show Big Support for Nanotechnology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new study by independent company Market Attitude Research Services, shows that Australians are supportive of nanotechnology. <!--more-->The study, &#8220;Australian Community Attitudes Held about Nanotechnology &#8211; Trends 2005-2011&#8221;, found that the country is increasingly positive about this emerging science, particularly its potential to improve lives. Australian Innovation Minister Kim Carr said, &#8220;This study is the fifth conducted since 2005 and in that time we have found the understanding of nanotechnology is increasing. Seventy-six per cent of those surveyed said they were aware of nanotechnology, compared to 51 per cent in 2005. When we looked at understanding the technology, we saw a large increase. Eighteen per cent of those surveyed said they knew in detail what nanotechnology was and how it worked, compared to only four per cent in 2005.
