Tokyo, Japan \u2013 28 January 2026<\/strong> \u2014 The National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), in collaboration with SPIKE ARCHITECTONICS CO., LTD.<\/strong> , an NSTDA deep-tech startup, and Japanese partner Furutaka Electronics Co., Ltd.<\/strong>, officially launched the \u201cMicrospike Technology Pavilion\u201d<\/strong> at nano tech 2026<\/em>, the 25th International Nanotechnology Exhibition and Conference, held at Tokyo Big Sight.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva<\/strong>, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan. The pavilion showcases advanced nanomaterial innovations, highlighting micro\/nanoneedle (Microspike) technologies<\/strong> with broad applications in healthcare, beauty, and biomedical industries.<\/p>\n

At the pavilion, NANOTEC presented its research on microneedle technology platforms, demonstrating successful pathways from laboratory research to commercial deployment. Featured applications including:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Microneedle Patch for Allergy Testing
\n\u2022 Microneedle Patch for Interstitial Fluid Sampling
\n\u2022 Multifunctional Microneedles for Transdermal Delivery
\n\u2022 Nanopore platform for biomarker detection<\/p>\n

The exhibition also featured market-ready products developed by SPIKE ARCHITECTONICS, reflecting strong research-to-business integration, alongside contributions from Furutaka Electronics that underscore international industrial collaboration.<\/p>\n

This initiative marks a key milestone in NSTDA\u2019s mission to translate high-potential Thai research into competitive deep-tech ventures. SPIKE ARCHITECTONICS has currently licensed more than 12 NSTDA ‘s IP research technologies<\/strong> and achieved production capabilities over 13 times faster<\/strong> than comparable international counterparts, addressing critical industrial-scale manufacturing challenges and reinforcing Thailand\u2019s global competitiveness in nanotechnology-based innovations.<\/p>\n

In addition, NANOTEC researchers participated in the Asia Nano Forum (ANF)<\/strong> activities under nano tech 2026, presenting research on soft nanocomposite conductive platforms<\/strong> and delivering a keynote presentation<\/strong> at the ANF Commercialization Workshop<\/em> titled \u201cInnovative Nanohybrid Materials Toward Sustainable Commercialization.\u201d<\/em> The engagement also included collaborative discussions with leading research institutions and industry partners to expand cooperation in advanced nanomaterials and precision medicine.<\/p>\n
