September 3, 2026, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center \u2013 The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), through the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), has partnered with Dr.PONG Skin Research Lab Co., Ltd. to develop an active ingredient delivery technology platform for dietary supplements and cosmetic products based on nanotechnology research and expertise. The collaboration also marks the launch of \u201cZIAMOZOME\u2122,\u201d a precision nano-delivery innovation designed to enhance the delivery of active ingredients, with the aim of strengthening the potential of cosmetic products and supporting the development of innovative products that meet the needs of today\u2019s consumers.<\/strong><\/div>\n

Dr. Uracha Raktananonchai, Director of the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), NSTDA,<\/strong> said that the health and beauty industries continue to experience steady growth, with consumers placing increasing importance on product quality, efficacy, and safety. At the same time, Thailand possesses significant potential in terms of biological resources and raw materials from the agricultural and food sectors. This presents an opportunity for Thailand to move beyond being primarily a supplier of raw materials toward becoming a developer of high-value technologies and products, with bioactive compounds serving as an important driver of future industries. Such developments can create a wider range of choices for consumers, spanning food and nutrition products, healthcare products, cosmetics, and cosmeceuticals.<\/div>\n

\u201cTo position Thailand as one of the global leaders in the bioactive compounds industry, it is essential to leverage knowledge, technology, and collaboration between the research and private sectors. The signing of this collaboration with Dr.PONG Skin Research Lab Co., Ltd. demonstrates confidence in the potential of Thai technologies, particularly nanotechnology, which can be further applied to cosmetics and dietary supplements to create added value and enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs. NANOTEC has continuously collaborated with the private sector to apply nanotechnology expertise to health and beauty products under its Strategic Focus (SF) on Agriculture and Food. This focus aims to develop and add value to active compounds derived from Thailand\u2019s biological resources and raw materials\u2014from the development of active ingredients and enhancement of their performance to their transformation into high-value products. Nanoencapsulation technology is one of the key technologies that can enhance the delivery efficiency of active ingredients and has strong potential for further development into cosmetic and cosmeceutical applications in the future,\u201d Dr. Uracha said.<\/div>\n

Dr. Yuwapong Suthinan, Founder and Managing Director of Dr.PONG Skin Research Lab Co., Ltd.,<\/strong> said that the company aims to elevate Thailand\u2019s health and beauty product development from competing primarily on the basis of \u201cproduct formulations\u201d to competing through deep technology and advanced active ingredient delivery systems. The company places particular emphasis on developing technologies suited to Thai and Asian consumers, taking into account skin characteristics, hot and humid climates, real-world usage behavior, as well as the stability and efficacy of active ingredients under such conditions. Dr.PONG Skin Research Lab has therefore developed capabilities covering the development of delivery systems and formulations, scientific testing and analysis, and human efficacy testing, with the goal of connecting laboratory research with practical products that can be commercialized and deployed at the industrial level.<\/div>\n

\u201cIn the past, many segments of Thailand\u2019s beauty industry relied heavily on technologies from overseas. However, we believe that Thailand has the potential to develop these technologies domestically. **ZIAMOZOME\u2122** represents a Thai-developed active ingredient delivery platform designed and tested specifically for Thai and Asian skin, as well as hot and humid climatic conditions that differ from those of many countries where current beauty technologies originated. The name \u2018ZIAMOZOME\u2122\u2019 is derived from the word \u2018ZIAM,\u2019 which is associated with \u2018SIAM,\u2019 reflecting the Thai origin of the technology and our ambition to develop Thai deep technology capable of competing on the global stage.<\/div>\n

\u201cBeyond applying ZIAMOZOME\u2122 to Dr.PONG\u2019s own products, the company plans to further develop the technology as a **B2B technology platform** for manufacturers and brands both in Thailand and internationally. The objective is to bring knowledge and technologies developed in Thailand to the global market. Our long-term goal is to establish health and beauty technologies from Thailand that can be adopted by brands worldwide. Dr. Kittiwut Kasemwong, Senior Researcher and Director of the Nanoencapsulation and Biological Delivery System Research<\/strong> Group, NANOTEC, NSTDA, said that a key highlight of the research collaboration is the development of **\u201cZIAMOZOME\u2122,\u201d a targeted liposomal delivery technology**. The technology utilizes lipid-based nanoparticles capable of encapsulating active ingredients and delivering them more precisely to targeted areas. The nanoparticle surfaces are engineered to enhance delivery efficiency and cellular uptake, while particle size, size distribution, and stability are carefully controlled to ensure their suitability for formulation development in cosmetic products.<\/div>\n

\u201cZIAMOZOME\u2122 resulted from the successful development of a platform capable of efficiently encapsulating active ingredients and delivering them specifically to target cells. The resulting nanoparticles are small and exhibit a uniform size distribution. Through the selection of formulations appropriate for specific active ingredients, test results demonstrated that the developed nanoparticles could achieve an encapsulation efficiency of more than 70%, with a potential to enhance both skin permeation and cellular uptake. In addition, the research team places importance on comparing the performance of active ingredients incorporated into the delivery system with those in their free form, in order to evaluate the extent to which the developed technology can improve the efficacy of the active ingredients,\u201d Dr. Kittiwut added.<\/div>\n
