{"id":4341,"date":"2013-03-13T17:06:23","date_gmt":"2013-03-13T10:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nano2.toolsmkt.com\/?p=4341"},"modified":"2013-03-13T17:06:23","modified_gmt":"2013-03-13T10:06:23","slug":"from-research-to-safety-aspects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nanotec.or.th\/en\/from-research-to-safety-aspects\/","title":{"rendered":"From Research to Safety Aspects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. Herald Krug, Head of Department \u201cMaterials meet Life\u201d at EMPA, Switzerland recently gave a talk on \u201cPolymers and fibers with new functions for new applications \u2013 from research to safety aspects\u201d. <!--more-->The talk was organized by NANOTEC and the Polymer Society of Thailand on March 13 at NSTDA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not possible to\u00a0slow down technological advancement in polymer applications\u201d said Prof. Krug. \u201cWhat is important is being able to address and communicate from the beginning the various concern that may arise as a result of technology advancement because the end user is us &#8211; the human&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>According to Prof. Krug, nanosafety considerations has become a substantial part of many funding programs, international conferences, regulatory activities worldwide and many international working groups are taking care of this topic. He is pleased to see that Thailand is taking a proactive role in this subject as it is necessary if you want to promote the technology.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Krug is in currently in town on a 3 month Visiting Professor status with his wife Karin.
