We are hiring 3 research assistants!

Be a part of exciting frontier research projects on thermal and electrochemical catalysis at the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), NSTDA (Pathum Thani)

1. Project: 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural Production from Fructose Syrup in a Liter-scale Batch Reactor
(การสังเคราะห์ไฮดรอกซีเมทิลเฟอร์ฟูรัลจากน้ำเชื่อมฟรุกโตสในเตาปฏิกรณ์แบบกะระดับลิตร)

Position: Research assistant (NCR) at Catalyst Research Team, NANOTEC, NSTDA (Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani)

Duration: 1 year

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or other related subjects
  • Research experience in thermochemical catalysis using a stirred-tank reactor is preferred, but not strictly required.
  • A good command of English in reading and writing

Job descriptions:

  • Synthesis of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from fructose syrup by catalytic thermochemical process in a liter-scale batch reactor
  • Products analysis using HPLC technique
  • Separation and Purification of HMF
  • Kilogram-scale production of HMF with purity ≥ 95%

Personality: Good attitude, flexible and good at communication, responsible and perseverant

Salary: monthly allowance of 27,500 THB + health insurance

2. Position: Research assistant (project-based) at Catalyst Research Team, National Nanotechnology Center working on electrocatalysis for CO2 reduction to chemicals

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related fields
  • Research experience in materials synthesis, catalysis, OR electrochemistry

Job descriptions:

  • Responsible for catalyst synthesis using wet chemistry
  • Testing electrocatalytic CO2 reduction to chemicals in flow cells
  • Products analysis by GC and NMR
  • 8-month contract
  • Salary of 27,500 THB + health insurance

3. Position: Research assistant at the Catalyst Research Team, NANOTEC, NSTDA, working on scaling up the electrochemical oxidation reaction of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from gram-scale to kilogram-scale

1 Year contract – monthly salary of 27,500 THB + health insurance

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related fields
  • Research experience in electrochemistry, catalysis, or reaction scale-up

Job descriptions:

  • Responsible for catalyst synthesis by electrodeposition or sol-gel techniques
  • Testing HMF oxidation reaction in electrochemical flow cells
  • Products analysis by HPLC
  • Separation and Purification of FDCA
  • Optimization for high yield and high efficiency
