Contract Research and Business Developments

Our group has extensive experiences in contract research and business developments both with government agencies and private companies especially in the area of biorefinery, biomass conversion, conversion of waste to valuable products, adsorbent materials, and computational predictions. We work collaboratively with these partners to solve their production problems and develop their products. If you are interested in partnering with us or would like to inquire more information, please contact Nuttiporn Vanittananon (our senior analyst) at nuttiporn@nanotec.or.th.

We proactively develop our own technology that companies can readily utilize in their business through licensing route. We showcase below some examples of our technology that are ready for transfer.

Product portfolio

CARBANO

CARBANO is a cutting-edge technology for producing the premium activated carbon. One of our product, CARBANO-Ag, is an activated carbon doped with silver nanoparticles. This doping technology is simple, eco-friendly and sustainable with low waste and toxic emission. It also suitable for existing industrial plants.

CARBANO-Ag can be applied in drinking water purification, gas purification, chemical removal, and environmental applications.  This product has a promising ability to adsorb and reduce chloroform, and toxic inorganic contaminants (especially for Hg and As). Moreover, it has another bi-functional activity to disinfect microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli

SMARTCAT

We have developed a range of scalable catalysts for catalytic conversions including but not limited to

  • biomass oxidation
  • dry reforming of methane

FRAcelle

FRAcelle is cellulose nanofibers produced from agricultural biomass residues. Through our technology, we convert these thick, several micron in diameter, cellulose fiber into extremely thin cellulose nanofiber with nanometer-sized in diameter and several micron up to a hundred micron in length. FRAcelle is available in both dried and colloidal forms with high dispersion in selected organic solvents and water.

The unique properties of FRAcelle are light weight, biodegradable, biocompatible, and highly optically transparent making it useful in a wide variety of applications such as reinforcement materials, packaging, electronic devices, energy storage, drug delivery, and food-beverage additives.

Metal-organic framework materials

We develop advanced metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) to address pressing challenges in carbon capture and vapor capture. Our research combines materials innovation with practical shaping protocols to bridge the gap between laboratory discovery and real-world applications.

MOFs for H₂O and CO₂ capture – designing and optimizing porous materials to selectively trap the desired gas and producing them at scale

Shaping protocols –  extrusion and coating techniques to translate MOF powders into usable forms
