The countries of Russia and China have set targets to increase bilateral trade to US$200 billion by 2020. It is expected to reach US$70 billion by the end of this year. Sergey Razov, Russia’s ambassador to China, said to reach the 2020 targets, “we need to work hard with our Chinese colleagues. After all, we have both the conditions and the potential to reach this target,” adding that the main areas for China-Russia cooperation would be to enlarge two-way investment in fields such as power station construction, upgrading power supply networks, and major natural gas and coal projects. Razov said there is also great potential in fields such as aviation, nanotechnology, biotechnology and agriculture.
