NANOTEC and Department of Health Discuss Scaling Up Water Quality Innovations

On 10 September 2026, the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), NSTDA, met with the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, to discuss approaches for scaling up science, technology and innovation (STI) solutions for community water supply and water quality management.

The meeting highlighted NANOTEC’s M-Sense and ChemSense water quality testing technologies, which have been applied to support the Department of Health’s water management activities. Both organizations discussed mechanisms to expand the use of water monitoring and treatment technologies to improve the quality of water for consumption and household use and enhance public well-being.

NANOTEC also presented technologies for medical wastewater management and healthcare facilities, which the Department of Health expressed interest in further developing and applying.
