Dr. Wiyong Kangwansupamonkon, Deputy Director of the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), and Dr. Somprasong Thongkham, a researcher from the Hybrid Materials and Nanoprocesses Research Group, delivered and demonstrated the installation of innovative water barriers—made from recycled plastic waste blended with nanocomposites—to Mr. Suthalak Thongchaidech, Director of Krachaeng Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital (20-meter installation), and Ms. Kannikar Nak-in, Mayor of Sam Khok Sub-district Municipality, for the Sam Khok Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital (50-meter installation). These barriers aim to prepare for potential flooding and riverbank overflows, as well as to enhance the efficiency of public health services for the community during the annual high-water season.
The innovative water barriers measure 140 centimeters in length and 70 centimeters in height. Key features include ease of use and transport, rapid installation, and the ability to be dismantled and reused. They offer a service life of over five years, are lightweight, and can be stacked for compact storage.
