On 24 September 2026, the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), NSTDA, delivered a prototype Ozone-Act system for removing antibiotic residues from hospital wastewater to Samut Prakan Hospital.
Developed under the A-QUALITY Clean Water Innovation Program, the system is designed to improve hospital wastewater management and reduce environmental and public health risks associated with antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Field testing at other hospitals conducted by NANOTEC and the Department of Health demonstrated the system’s potential to effectively remove antibiotic residues and control antibiotic-resistant bacteria in wastewater. The delivery to Samut Prakan Hospital marks another step toward expanding the technology to other healthcare facilities.
