Hsinchu, Taiwan | 16–17 July 2026 – The National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), participated in the Asia Nano Forum (ANF) Summit 2026 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to advancing regional collaboration in nanotechnology research, innovation, standardization, and commercialization. The Thai delegation was led by Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, Executive Director of NANOTEC, and Mrs. Sansanee Huabsomboon, Deputy Executive Director.
As part of the ANF Innovation and Commercialization Session on 16 July, Dr. Jitapa Sumranjit, Team Leader of the Nanocharacterization Research Team, delivered a presentation entitled “Bridging the Gap: Establishing Industrial Standards for Herbal Medicinal Nanoparticles in Thailand,” highlighting Thailand’s progress in developing industrial standards to support the quality, safety, and commercialization of herbal medicinal nanoparticles.
The ANF Summit 2026 brought together delegates from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India for the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Working Group meetings, and strategic discussions on strengthening regional cooperation. During the Summit, member economies reviewed the Forum’s progress, endorsed the ANF Office Bearers for the 2027–2028 term., The newly elected office bearers were announced, with Dr. Uracha elected as Vice President and Dr. Waluree elected as Treasurer. NANOTEC will continue to support the Asia Nano Forum (ANF) and contribute to its activities and regional collaboration. NANOTEC also presented Thailand’s Country Brief Report, showcasing recent achievements and future directions in nanotechnology to support sustainable development.
NANOTEC actively contributed to the Nano Safety and Risk Management Working Group, presenting Thailand’s latest activities and reporting progress on the Interlaboratory Comparison: Proficiency Testing for Nanoproducts Project, a regional initiative involving 11 institutes from four ANF member economies. The project aims to harmonize nanoproduct characterization and strengthen technical cooperation among participating laboratories. Updates were also presented by the Working Groups on Standardization, User-Facility Network, and Commercialization, reflecting ANF’s continued efforts to enhance regional cooperation through shared research infrastructure, harmonized standards, and responsible innovation.
Through its active participation in the ANF Summit 2026, NSTDA-NANOTEC reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and advancing nanotechnology innovation, standardization, and commercialization to support sustainable economic and societal development across the Asia-Pacific region.
