Being Proactive

Being Proactive

Bob Dylan’s song “the times they are changing” clearly reflect the changing of attitude and practice of modern day researchers and administrators. Gone are the days where researchers are confined to their research labs and administrators to their desks.  Research institutes of the modern world must be proactive and attentive to market needs in order to be competitive and research relevant.

Recently, NANOTEC researchers and administrators visited IRPC (Integrated Refinery & Petrochemical Complex Public Co., Ltd) at their Rayong facility. IRPC also has a research division at Thailand Science Park. The purpose of the visit is introductory with a keen interest to explore research collaboration in areas related to nanotechnology development.

IRPC is one of the 6 companies that will join the Thailand team to showcase products at the Nano tech 2011 at Tokyo Big Sight from February 16-18. The Thailand team is made up of representatives from BOI, TSP, MOST, and NANOTEC.
