On 20 August 2026, the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), NSTDA, through its Agriculture and Food Program, hosted the academic and hands-on workshop “Know Your Soil, Know Your Fertilizer, Know Your Technology: Innovations for Low-Carbon Agriculture to Increase Productivity and Address Climate Change” for farmers and government officials in Chonburi Province.
The workshop provided practical knowledge on soil analysis, nutrient management and efficient fertilizer use, together with hands-on training in modern agricultural technologies. Participants learned to use soil test kits and IoT sensor systems to monitor field conditions and apply satellite imagery to assess and track crop health, supporting data-driven farm management.
The workshop also showcased NANOTEC’s research on controlled-release nano-fertilizer technology, developed under NSTDA’s Strategic Focus on Precision Agri-Food NANO. The technology aims to improve nutrient-use efficiency, reduce fertilizer losses and help lower greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture.
Through the workshop, NANOTEC is helping translate research and innovation into practical applications, equipping farmers with knowledge and technologies to increase productivity, reduce costs and contribute to Thailand’s transition toward low-carbon agriculture.
