Nanobiology for cancer screening

Prof. Dr. Tararaj Dharakul, Senior Advisor at NANOTEC was invited to give a talk on “Application of Nanobiology for cancer screening” at the 5th International Symposium on IT Convergence Engineering being held at POSTECH, Pohang, Korea from July 11-12. A Total of 16 invited speakers from 7 contries are participating in this 2 days symposium.

“Cancer of the uterine cervix is still the leading health problem for women worldwide and the most important factor associated with the cancer is infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV)” said Dr. Tararaj. “Our research group has been working on developing a cancer screening that can provide early detection of cancer. The strategy involved selection of suitable biomarkers, develop specific reagents, and evaluate their potential in several test formats. Further development of this research is still on-going”.
