On 11 September 2026, the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), NSTDA, met with the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Government to discuss approaches for scaling up science, technology and innovation (STI) solutions for water management and coastal conservation in the province.
The discussion highlighted NANOTEC’s nanotechnology-based hard-water treatment system, equipped with water quality monitoring and drinking water systems, as well as a biomaterial-based wave barrier and sediment-trapping innovation designed to help address coastal erosion.
NANOTEC has previously worked with local agencies in Prachuap Khiri Khan to apply research-based solutions to improve community water management, including water treatment systems, village water supply and water storage. The collaboration also includes capacity-building activities to strengthen local authorities’ ability to monitor and improve water quality, supporting more effective and sustainable resource management.
