NANOTEC Board member receive 2010 Outstanding Person of the Year award

Aj. Jumras Limtrakul (Kasetsart University) a member of NANOTEC Board of Directors received the 2010 Outstanding Person of the Year from the National Identity Board on Oct 18, 2010 from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Chaipattana Building, Chitralada Villa.

Aj. Jumras Limtrakul is the research pioneer of nanostructured materials for industrial applications in Thailand. His research has been beneficial from industrial and economic points of view. For example, nano-zeolites are of importance in the petroleum and petrochemicals industry. Up till now, over 150 scientific articles of his work have been published in the international journals. Aj. Jumras is recognized internationally as an outstanding researcher in zeolites.  For 2010, 455 potential candidates have been nominated for the awards. This year, the awards are given in three categories: social development; innovation in technology and science; promotion of Thailand’s reputation and image.

Also receiving the 2010 Outstanding Person of the Year Award was Aj. Somsak Punyakaew (Chulalongkorn University). Chulalongkorn University is a NANOTEC COE (Center of Excellence) member.
