On June 23, 2026, delegates from NANOTEC Thailand, led by Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, Executive Director of NANOTEC, participated in the Advanced Materials Strategy Workshop: Insights, Lessons, and Next Steps for WPMN Steering Groups.
The workshop focused on four key categories of advanced nanomaterials: nanocarriers, titanium carbide MXenes, graphene-related materials (GRMs), and 3D-printing materials. Discussions explored their implications for human health, environmental sustainability, and regulatory frameworks.
A major theme of the workshop was addressing existing knowledge gaps by developing the scientific evidence needed to support appropriate testing methods and regulatory guidance. These efforts are intended to enable reliable and robust assessments of material safety and sustainability throughout the entire material lifecycle, including environmental fate and impacts. The workshop concluded with a summary of key insights and a roadmap outlining future actions to help ensure that emerging materials are developed and used in a safer and more sustainable manner.
