The collaboration also marks the launch of “ZIAMOZOME™,” a precision nano-delivery innovation designed to enhance the delivery of active ingredients, with the aim of strengthening the potential of cosmetic products and supporting the development of innovative products that meet the needs of today’s consumers.

Dr. Uracha Raktananonchai, Director of the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), NSTDA, said that the health and beauty industries continue to experience steady growth, with consumers placing increasing importance on product quality, efficacy, and safety. At the same time, Thailand possesses significant potential in terms of biological resources and raw materials from the agricultural and food sectors. This presents an opportunity for Thailand to move beyond being primarily a supplier of raw materials toward becoming a developer of high-value technologies and products, with bioactive compounds serving as an important driver of future industries. Such developments can create a wider range of choices for consumers, spanning food and nutrition products, healthcare products, cosmetics, and cosmeceuticals.

Dr. Kittiwut Kasemwong, Senior Researcher and Director of the Nanoencapsulation and Biological Delivery System Research Group, NANOTEC, NSTDA, said that a key highlight of the research collaboration is the development of **“ZIAMOZOME™,” a targeted liposomal delivery technology**. The technology utilizes lipid-based nanoparticles capable of encapsulating active ingredients and delivering them more precisely to targeted areas. The nanoparticle surfaces are engineered to enhance delivery efficiency and cellular uptake, while particle size, size distribution, and stability are carefully controlled to ensure their suitability for formulation development in cosmetic products.

“ZIAMOZOME™ resulted from the successful development of a platform capable of efficiently encapsulating active ingredients and delivering them specifically to target cells. The resulting nanoparticles are small and exhibit a uniform size distribution. Through the selection of formulations appropriate for specific active ingredients, test results demonstrated that the developed nanoparticles could achieve an encapsulation efficiency of more than 70%, with a potential to enhance both skin permeation and cellular uptake. In addition, the research team places importance on comparing the performance of active ingredients incorporated into the delivery system with those in their free form, in order to evaluate the extent to which the developed technology can improve the efficacy of the active ingredients,” Dr. Kittiwut added.
