NANOTEC presented Nanotechnology Research Capabilities and Network in Thailand at ANF 2022 Symposium on User-Facility Network in Asia, nano tech 2022, JAPAN (hybrid meeting).

On 27 January 2022, Dr. Wannee Chinsirikul, Executive Director of NANOTEC and Dr. Paisan Khanchaitit, Team Leader of Nanoneedle Research Team, Responsive Material and Nanosensor Research Group represented NANOTEC to share information and experience on the topic of “Nanotechnology Research Capabilities and Network in Thailand” at the ANF 2022 Symposium on User-Facility Network in Asia. The event was organized in conjunction with the 21th International Nanotechnology Exhibition & Conference (nano tech 2022), JAPAN. The purpose of this symposium is to share information on user-facility activities and advanced nanofab, nanobio, and nano-characterizaion technologies in Asia. Over 80 panelists and attendees from 9 countries (Austria, Columbia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand) joined in this symposium to share their research capabilities and facilities to build an international network of user facility.

Dr. Wannee presented the research capabilities and facilities of NANOTEC including the research network of nanotechnology in Thailand and gave an overview on the translational research and development at EECi. Dr. Paisan was invited to join this talk to share the success story of the research network collaboration supported by Tsukuba Innovation Arena (TIA) Nano Japan. In 2014, Dr. Paisan and his team had an opportunity to participate “SAKURA Program” in which young talented people from many countries and regions to be trained in Japan as the collaboration among industry-academia-government. This program aims to introduce and offer experience in Japanese science and technology. Dr. Paisan and his team gained experiences in using research facilities at TIA in Tsukuba, Japan. They applied experiences and techniques learned from TIA Nano, which was academically excellent to scale up their research and network according to BCG strategy. Currently, they have a plan with commercialization partners to produce the micro nanoneedles on fabrics with customizable features.

The ANF 2022 Symposium on User-Facility Network in Asia is the first symposium of ANF User-Facility Network Working Group initiated by Dr. Yasuo Koide, a coordinator of this working group. He is currently a Special Mission Researcher, a Group Leader of Next-generation Semiconductor group, and Director of Nanotechnology Platform Center in Japan (NPJ), and Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials and Nanotechnology in Japan (ARIM) at National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan.
