Nanotechnology text book won Innovative Award

A team from NANOTEC recently received the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) Innovative Award 2012 for their development of a demonstrating text book to promote the understanding of nanotechnology. The text book has been in the work since 2005.

“Despite the fact that nanotechnology have been around for quite a few years, it is still considered new to Thai society” said Dr. Nuttapun Supaka, researcher and team member of National Nanotechnology Centre (Nanotec) under the National Science and Technology Development Agency. “Our goal for developing this demonstration book is to try and include this book as part of the mainstream curriculum for secondary education”.

Currently, the members of the Teacher Trainer of Nanotechnology (TTN) which was originally setup by NANOTEC and is now an independent body are using the demonstrating book in their training activities of new members whose make up are mostly science teachers and university lecturers.
