New form of ice seen in graphene interlayers

A novel type of “bilayer” ice can form between stacked layers of graphene oxide according to new work by researchers at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study and Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands. The result, obtained using atomistic models, could help in the development of graphene-based filters and separators, better graphene catalysts and even anti-corrosion surfaces based on the carbon material…….
