On 11 April 2025, the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), led by Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, Executive Director of NANOTEC, along with executives and researchers, welcomed representatives from L'Oréal (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The visit aimed to explore potential collaboration in research and development, with a particular focus on the utilization of Thai herbal extracts through advanced nanotechnology.

NANOTEC showcased its extensive research capabilities, including nano-encapsulation technology, biological delivery systems, and platforms for the safety and efficacy testing of herbal extracts and bioactive nano-formulations. These capabilities represent core strengths of the center and are well-positioned to support the private sector in developing high-quality, safe, and effective consumer products.

As part of the visit, the L'Oréal team toured several of NANOTEC's research laboratories, including the Nano-Safety and Bioactivity Laboratory, the In Vivo Nanotoxicology Analysis Laboratory, and the Nanoparticles and Cosmetics Production Plant. These facilities support formulation development and scale-up manufacturing at a semi-industrial level, enabling a smooth transition from laboratory research to market-ready solutions.
This visit marks a significant step towards fostering public–private partnership in scientific innovation, with promising prospects for future research and development partnerships. The focus will be on developing formulations from Thai herbal extracts, leveraging the potential and strengths of local medicinal plants to create high-quality, consumer-friendly innovations that meet global beauty and wellness market demands.
