Metallic photonic crystals (MPCs) based on the interaction between photonic and plasmonic resonance modes may be applied extensively in biosensors and optoelectronic devices. The successful fabrication of MPCs with high reproducibility and high yield is crucial for realizing these functions. However, these requirements, in particular the mass fabrication of large-area MPCs, can pose challenges for conventional techniques.
