Thailand and Japan accelerate human resource development in nanotechnology

H.E. Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology and H.E. Mr. Thanatip Upatising, Thai Ambassador to Japan witness to Thailand-Japan Research Collaboration Signing Agreement reinforces the importance of research collaboration for human resource development in areas related to nanotechnology.

The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) of Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to extend the existing research collaboration between the two organizations. Signing for NSTDA was Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, President of NSTDA and for NIMS was Prof. Sukekatsu Usioda, President of NIMS.

The initiative allows NSTDA and members of its research agencies such as BIOTEC, MTC, NANOTEC, and NECTEC to continue to work with researchers from NIMS on numerous research projects ranging from nanotechnology to materials development, to researchers exchange programs. Research agencies from both institutions have benefited enormously from this collaborative relationship and will continue to do so for the next 5 years.
