Nano-characterization Team (NCH)

Nano-characterization team’s research focuses compose of 3 scopes ranging from synthesis of standard reference materials and other characterizing materials, development of efficient characterization techniques, to development of standard protocols for characterization. We aim to improve characterization techniques in both technical and standard schemes. The project on development of nanoparticles as Thai reference materials (TRM) has been conducted. These particles are used for calibrating size-measuring instruments according to the ISO standard and currently imported from oversea, so the TRM would cut the operation cost for the users. We also provide a service for analyzing problems during manufacturing processes for private companies. Moreover, the industrial standards are being developed for products from research projects, for examples, industrial standard for encapsulated herb extracts and industrial standard for batteries.

Current research projects
1. Development of Thai reference materials (TRM) for calibration of particle-size measuring instruments
2. Research and development of gold and silver nanoparticles used as standard reference materials applied for instrument calibration and nano-sensors
3. Weathering condition study of color fastness determination in anodized aluminum
