Graphene (a sheet of carbon just one atom thick) can be made magnetic by functionalizing the material with certain organic radicals. Now, a Stanford University researcher has calculated that this magnetism could be controlled using an electric field. The result could be important for developing low-power spintronics applications from graphene in the future……….
