Nano Talk: “Design, Synthesis and Applications of Multifunctional Metal and Semiconductor Nanowires”

Dr. Rawiwan

Visiting speakers are considered blessing in disguise to research communities. They help contribute to building awareness to updated research information and at the same time, support in building research networks especially to upcoming researchers. Recently, NANOTEC researchers were entertained by a special talk from Dr. Rawiwan Laocharoensuk, Director’s Postdoctoral Fellow Los Alamos National Laboratory Physical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (C-PCS) and Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT), Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM 87545 on the topic of “Design, Synthesis and Applications of Multifunctional Metal and Semiconductor Nanowires”.

“Template-assisted nanowire synthesis offers significant advantages for fabricating multi-segmented nanowire structures and, hence, is an attractive approach for integrating several material properties into single nanoscale structures” said Dr. Rawiwan. “The novel structures, coupled with fabrication technique provides important advantages for device integration”
